Rio Verde is an Arizona golf retirement community nestled in the Verde River valley. It's surrounded on all four sides with openness. Rio Verde, one of Arizona's pioneers in adult living, is situated on 709 acres twenty miles east of Pima Road just north of Fountain Hills. Rio Verde offers two 18-hole golf courses, swim and tennis, social activities, a clubhouse, and a variety of real estate options. Both the Quail Run and White Wing golf courses were designed by Fred Bolton. Gary Panks directed the recent renovation of both courses. Homes range in price from about $200,000 to over $700,000. Lots range from $60,000 to over $200,000. Membership is currently $32,500 with limited equity. Nestled between the McDowell Mountains and the Tonto National Forest, Rio Verde offers mountain views as majestic as any in the great state of Arizona.

The first 18 holes of golf were opened in 1973, followed by a second course completed in 1982. Recently, the Community Church, the Rio Verde Community Center and the clubhouse were all remodeled and upgraded. In 1996, the irrigation systems on both golf courses were upgraded followed by a turf conversion project in 1997 and 1998.

There are six lighted tennis courts at the Rio Verde Tennis Club which is staffed by a year-round tennis pro. The community's Oasis offers a large swimming pool with four 75 foot lap lanes, a Jacuzzi, a beautiful fitness center with state-of-the-art exercise equipment. The nearby parks abound with hiking trails. The Oasis also has a library, art & crafts room, pool table, ping pong table, multipurpose room and two large card rooms. Ice cream socials, Gammage Theatre events, pot-luck dinners, western dance classes, art classes and other special interest group activities are all available to residents. Of course, you can just sit back and watch the Golf Channel or ESPN on our cable system.

Rio Verde adheres to the provisions of the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988. Simply put, one member of each household acquiring a residential lot must be fifty-five or older. This requirement can be waived by the association board. No person under the age of nineteen is permitted as a resident of Rio Verde.
